Quality Management

• In addition to the tests performed we run internal quality controls on a daily basis.
• The Laboratory participates in an External Quality Assurance Services (EQAS) Program submitted monthly to BIORAD.
• At the Laboratory there is constant technical support and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• We ensure to be updated and informed about new tests, new diagnostic methods and new equipment so that we can provide the best service possible.

External Quality Assurance

The laboratory is registered to Bio-Rad External Quality Assurance Services (EQAS) and participates in an external assessment program, which runs in twelve-month cycles.  The Bio-Rad comprehensive external assessment provides accurate comparison of performance with laboratories using the same methodology and/or instrument/reagents.  Used in conjunction with daily quality controls, the external assessment gives added confidence in patient test results and provides valuable information for monitoring performance and trouble-shooting.

 

At the end of each monthly cycle, a detailed report consisting of peer group statistics, linear regression analyses and bias and imprecision scattergrams for each analyte assayed is generated.  The report is given together with a national and international ranking for individual analyte and overall performance.

 

A Certificate of Participation is provided every year for the successful completion of all twelve cycles.
